Taking an idea from the game into family time

Use a favourite game dish as a starting point for drawing, talking about ingredients, or a simple kitchen activity with an adult.

Choose one idea to explore

Ask your child which dish they remember from the game. You don't have to cook it right away. Drawing a burger, talking about vegetable colours, or making an imaginary restaurant menu can be a shared activity too.

Offer a small task

For an activity that doesn't involve cooking, an adult can prepare ingredients that suit the family. With you beside them, your child might arrange sandwich fillings or decorate a plate. Choose a task based on what they can do and the help they'll need.

Use a separate recipe for real cooking

The steps in the game are designed for play. They aren't instructions for cooking temperatures, cooking times, or handling raw ingredients. If you decide to make a real dish, an adult should choose a separate recipe and follow its directions.

Set up the space and stay nearby

Check the ingredients against your family's food needs, wash your hands, and prepare the work area. An adult handles knives, the stove, and hot cookware. Stay with your child throughout the activity, then invite them to help clean up.
